Looks like you got a great deal on a NOS cabinet then. Very Rare.
It was rare "back in the day" for anyone to have one of those.

You need to add at least one #6 handle though....

I used to sneak a piece of 9H lead in others lead holders in Drafting class as a Prank.
Nobody figured out who was doing it either. Colored lead or Vellum lead also made great pranks.

The only time I got caught was by my girlfriend during our Senior year of high school. I snuck a blue lead into her holder. We went to different High Schools and I was not there to see her reaction in class. Suffice it to say she took a "dim view" to this activity as it ruined an almost complete drawing. My HS buddies thought it was hilarious.
Pretty hardcore GH. In my drafting class there was this one smart ass kid that was always aggravating everyone else and disrupting things. One day when he stepped out to go to the restroom another kid took his drafting cleaning pad [you know the powdered erasers in the fabric bag] and emptied out his pencil sharpener graphite dust onto the back side of the pad and flipped it over and sat it back down on his table right where it was. Man was he in for a nasty surprise next time he wiped that pad across his drawing .....

Might be hard to spot, but the 9RX has a much smaller blade than the X-Calibre.

Here's one on ebay now:

Steve-
That sounds like a great drafting class prank too.
I ALWAYS got away with pranks in school because my image was one that was NEVER "in trouble" which worked VERY well for my pranking ways.

Earl-
Thanks for pointing out the X-Calibre knife, but the one I got from Sue is enough for me.

Yeah, I must admit it was a pretty funny prank. Who would expect the drafting nerds to be pranksters.

That X-Calibre knife Earl posted the link to is pretty cool. I’m set for now. I just received my Xacto No. 3 gold pen knife in the mail today.

Steve-
I like your blade choices in each handle, and especially like the vintage "wide" #24 blade in the "big" #6 handle.

I need to get some more #24 blades. I’ve never used that blade before that’s a new one for me and it’s been my go to now with the #24 in the big handle. Great combo!

Unfortunately the "wide" #24 blade has not been made in over 30 years.
All you will now find are only the width of the collet.

Well that’s a bummer. I didn’t realize that these are wider than the current #24 blade until you mentioned it. My big #6 came with one #24 blade already tightened in the collet and one more in the 5 blade multi pack that came with it. Sue included one in my set so I only have three and I’ve been using this set up a LOT.

Do these come up on eBay from time to time? Man, that’s an excellent blade for cutting fins I need to get some more. I hit it with the leather strop when I was finished with it today.
