The Traveling Willburys band.
I was really excited when they came out with their music.
George Harrison was the lead singer, Tom Petty and the others made a wonderful sound.
I just read a story from Tom Petty that he regretted not playing live with the band ever.
That would have been something.
Seeing and hearing Roy Orbison and all the others would have been marvarlous.

Let's not forget Bob Dylan and Jeff Lynn. the Traveling Willberry's was a band of All Stars, they just did not get enough time to make music together.

One of the other Wilbury's said that Jeff Lynne was the guy who busted his butt at night to make all their raw tapes sound right. Jeff Lynne's ELO performed a couple of Wilbury songs during their concert tour in 2019 and it was FANTASTIC!

My Favorite is their song "At the End of the Line" The references to other songs and the artist, is quite slick. It's also pays tribute to Roy Orbison who had just passed on. A good group. BTW, I really like ELO Jeff is brilliant.

John Lennon once called ELO "sons of Beatles". He particularly liked the song "Showdown" as it grabbed little pieces of the Motown sound. "10538 Overture" was definitely a son of "I Am The Walrus". When I first heard ELO's version of "Roll Over Beethoven" I immediately thought this is how the Beatles would have updated their cover if they'd revisited it in 1973.

So in 1987 when George's "comeback" album was produced by Jeff Lynne, I was not surprised.

I *was* surprised when Jeff was named the producer of the Threetles Anthology tracks. When George Martin backed off due to his hearing loss, George Harrison insisted that Jeff produce -- Paul was hesitant because he was afraid it would make them sound like ELO (which to a certain extent was true - Ringo's drums sound a bit compressed in the ELO style).
