Default Centuri Model Rocket Group on FB

Due to Doug Holverson losing his admin privileges somehow on the original Centuri Model Rocket group he created on Facebook, a bunch of spammers have started to post crap there. Phill Ash has created a new group that will have multiple admins and will also be a private group as opposed to Doug's public group. They're encouraging the legitimate members to join the new group. Here's the link:

YORF is better than any FaceBook rocket site.

I honestly don't know how people can follow conversations there the way the algorithms mess with which posts it shows you.

I don't try to follow anything on facebook. It would make my head spin. I will occasionally jump on and look at pictures when I'm stuck somewhere waiting, just to pass time. I am in a few rocket groups, vintage scanners, etc., but I've probably only posted a dozen times total.

Before I deleted everything and quit FB, I thought of the NAR Facebook page as like "the new r.m.r." FB NAR group was supposed to be a curated safe space for kids and adults, but it was (maybe still is) very easy for discussion threads to devolve into something that resembled the old rec.models.rockets newsgroup - until a moderator became aware of and deleted the thread. Not that all discussion threads over there ended up that ways, but it happened enough to get a flavor of the old days. I hope that they found a fix.

You know you miss John H. Jr., Jerry, Dumas, etal.
"That should be in the FAQ."

Oh weren't they just soooo awful!
Ah-yup, yup, yup... da FAQ. I actually updated a lot of it last year. Never did send the command that lets the FAQ server at MIT resume posting it.

Facebook is the worst application ever! (Except it does an incredibly thorough job of tracking your every action. )

The only way to follow a conversation is to post a question or comment, and hope someone responds, so you get a notification to follow up.

I would give up on Facebook entirely except it’s a pretty convenient way to keep up with our kids and grand kids.
