(I didn't understand what DaddisaBAR meant by nose cones from the 3FNC kits.)

I got two great flights with the Sukhoi before it lawn darted. It was tremendous seeing it fly and I'd love to fly it on a D! I can't say how much I love these rockets!

There are several other old Sunward 3FNC kits that have that nosecone - I think the names are like Moon Dancer and CFX 3, buy them for the nose cone and use the other parts elsewhere. That nose cone was also in the Umbrella, Galactic Wave and Glider kits - a bit more expensive to acquire. I checked and the planes are now bringing big bucks on FeeBay! Guess the supply-demand curve has shifted as more BARs discover these gems!

Yes - never launch these beauties in anything over a light breeze. Also look out for shock cord breakage in a light breeze or after several flights - they are just like Estes shock cords if not even a bit lighter. The one on my Liberator broke like on fight five, much to the delight of my crusty old ultra conservative flight buddy, finally he had something to harp on after watching so many successful flights. I had to save face by blaming “Socialized” Canadian medicine for providing cheap Canadian rubbers, resulting in an issue upon ejection. That was enough to quell even the staunchest tea party observer. Since then I have flown it several times with two stock shock cords tied together, again, much to their chagrin.

I'll take at least a dozen in BT-55 for prototype work for starters.

Golly gee, you could even take a Light bulb blister pack and cut out a canopy. Hack off some Axis & Allies army men game pieces for a pilot and back seat radar man! bobdros - you really must have had a good crash to due in that tough HPR plastic type nose cone.

Oh, please bring em back, so much nicer than that little Estes F-15 turd that I believe is also now OOP, at least at Hobby Lobby where I by all my Estes stuff. Who cares if they say some people want to fill the world with silly rocket plane kits . . . what's wrong with that? Maybe even an F-4, F-104 or any of the Century series. Old farts everywhere would be so happy.

OMG!!!!! I can't believe you just meshed Paul MacCartney and the Wings with rocket planes. Is there something wrong with you? Perhaps there is something wrong with me in that I picked up on it without hesitation...lol

Like I was saying early on in this thread, Hobby Lobby has canopies for Pinewood Derby cars. I'm sure you could find them anyplace that sells stuff for Pinewood cars. Never thought of the packs for light bulbs. Thanks for the insight.

If you would like to discuss something that is not available, it would be more appropriate to start a new thread in the vendor section.

you would have to get a very old kit as the new ones now have a balsa nose cone.
