I stand corrected.
It was in TWO catalogs.
I know the SPEV was in no 'real annual' catalogs, may have been in some of the special seasonal black&white catalogs.

Estes actually had more items in catalogs that were NOT produced than produced rockets not catalogued.
Those that come quickly to mind are the BSG Cylon Raider and Black Hole Cygnus Space Probe.
Actually, the Cygnus Probe was produced but had to be scrapped when the movie company would not approve the design. Supposedly a few of those exist in collections, but I have never seen one in person or even a pic to confirm this.

Unsure about the Stinger

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !

The Stinger (K-52) was never in any Estes catalog.

I found out about the kit from an advertisement placed in an order I made to Penrose.

I think one had to order $5.00 or more to get it as a 'Free' kit. I made sure to place an order of more than $5.00 so I could get that kit.

I did not build it very well but I still have it.

A few years ago I built a very nice clone using Semroc parts.
