I'll certainly pick up one (or two) at the LHS when they come in, should be a fun flier on the big BP motors, but will have to build light - listed weight is 14.5oz. The last 3 OOP Mega kits sold on ebay went for $149, $202.50, $189.99! Don't imagine the 3" kit will ever reach that level.

Toby Vanderbeek’s version at $95, even with the decals being sold separately by Stickershock, is a way better value than $149! I just don’t have the nostalgia gene when it comes to paper tubing, wood and plastic in bag. Even with the chute being plastic instead of nylon (like it should’ve been) I’ll be buying a 3” Max or two when they hit AC Supply and probably an alternative set of decals from Stickershock as well - the pirate style ones look interesting. Yaar! |

The prices of the Mega Der Red Max have quickly gotten outrageous on ebay.
Still kicking myself for not getting one during it's production run.

I know what you mean. I’m still kicking myself for not scooping them up at Fry’s when they were in the clearance bin for $10 each.

I built two of the 4" Red Maxes - one Red with a 38mm mount, and one "Blue Max" with the stock 29mm mount and Stickershock decals. I badly damaged the red one when the chute fouled, so I'd picked up another kit with the idea of replacing it - but ended up repairing in and stuck the unopened new one in the closet.
Sold it on ebay a few months back for $153... |

I think AC Supply was selling them for like $65.

I bought my MDRM for a little over $50 from Hobbylinc. I don’t remember the exact amount. But it must have been close to the last one. I posted info on the price, and within minutes people were replying that Hobbylinc had sold out. I am keeping it bagged. I have several MDRM tubes and MDRM nose cones bought from Estes (still available). I’ll either cut my own fins or order a set with CRs from Vanderburn Rocketry, then get vinyl from Stickershock. I ordered custom Stickershock decals for my Der Saturn Max and Mark Hayes does really nice work.
