Default Anyone still having E engines explode

This video is from 4 years ago. I had this one and another launch, both have the same result. I heard there was an issue with them at the time. Is it still a thing, or are they more reliable now?

Estes reworked the machines in 2020 that make the motors, to make them more reliable. The new motors went on the Estes website yesterday.

Is that all the E's or an either/or situation with a particular version (E9, E12) that most of you are having issues with? I know I used to have about a 90% failure rate with the early 90's 24mm E15 but I thought these newer ones were doing a lot better.

They actually built a new machine for E12, E16 and F15 production. I have not had any issues with 29mm E/F. I have not tried my pack of E12s, but have a possible sacrificial rocket for them. I have never had an issue with E9s, but my usage is low, maybe a dozen or so.

I”m looking forward to trying the new ones. I would actually like to see E9s return, too.

They only burst if you to ignite them, if you leave them alone they are fine Personally at launches that I've witnessed over the last 2-3 years I've seen about 30-40% failures of E-12's and E-9's, I personally won't fly them in anything I care about.

Sounds like we need to know the date codes for the beginning of the new production runs.

What were the date codes? In my experience, there were just a couple early date codes from 2011 that had issues, I've not had any E12 failures since then.
