I count myself being blessed. This week(I'm on vacation) I watched a HPR launch on Lake Winnipesaukee and after that went to Alton Bay to watch a Fly In. Alton Bay has the only FAA certified Ice runway in the country. Fresh seafood is an hour away. The White and Green Mountains are a few hours away. Went to North Conway yesterday. Boston(My favorite city) an hour away. NYC, four hours away! I have it all. Montana, not so much. Still a great state.

My brother lives in Montana. Can he get a fresh, buttered lobster roll and a winter salad? Nope.

No fowl is better than Pheasant.
I grill it several times a year.

I would have thought Montana would have pheasant, but it wasn't listed where I was looking. I looked it up again and see that there are pheasant, but hunters last year didn't see many. I guess it wasn't listed because they aren't native species.

I believe MT is a little too far north for ringneck pheasant. Case in point: southern MI has lots of them, but the northern LP and all of the UP have none—or very few. I don’lt recall ever seeing or hearing any up in Grayling. Maybe they’re smart enough to know where 45N is.

I buy Farm-Raised Pheasant from a specialty Butcher Shop in my hometown.
The only decent Pheasant hunting in Michigan anymore is on stocked ranches. Costs a lot more to "hunt" them that way than to just purchase Pheasant at the meat market. I'm not interested in paying MORE just for the opportunity to shotgun BLAST my own. Same way I buy my Elk Steaks and Burger.

Back to the original question - I've had the best luck warming up sandwiches by separating into components. The bread I heat in a toaster oven set to broil - with the filling side up - meat/cheese goes into the microwave, and veggie toppings remain on the side until I re-assemble.
Usually works quite well - although it can be messy with something like a cheesesteak since the cheese tends to glue everything together... BTW Philly Cheesesteak sands are the bomb - went to Philly on business back in the early 1990s and that's about all I ate. There used to be a Cheesesteak place in the Minneapolis airport that I'd hit up before boarding when I went through there - but the last time I was there it was gone |

When I lived in Lansing, MI, I saw many pheasant and deer on the river trail along the Lansing River. There is a wooded section of the trail where I once saw a black bear crossing the trail.
