Estes Little Joe II escape tower tube size
My Little Joe II turned into a lawn dart on it's last flight and obliterated the escape tower assembly. I ordered the replacement plastic parts from Estes, but does anyone know the tube size needed to complete the tower?

I think it is "BT-4" sized. It is smaller than BT-5 but larger than BT-3.
Unfortunately, the size is uncommon. Get Estes to send you the odd tube also.

Sorry, should have included that. It's the 1/45 scale version.

That's what I had assumed. It actually seems to be a BCH larger than BT5. I'll check my tube stash. If I find the correct diameter what is the length?

It measures .570" OD x 0.015" wall by 4.35 long. I looked on the BMS website but did not see a match.
Estes lists it as PN 031948. |

I’m sorry, but I don’t have one. It looks like a BT-5+ (in stock at Erockets) is a close match. The 8” length can be reduced.

That is an odd size....
BMS T5Plus is 0.015 larger in OD. I can't think of anyting else that close. The new "improved" eRockets.biz site makes it impossible to even look for something there by size.

Closest thing in Semroc tubes at eRockets. But it is .585 OD. Fits over a BT5. Their next size down is too small. Click on image once you are on the page to see specs.

I think the best solution is the BT-5+. Just “fatten” the shoulders of the top cone and of the bottom base.

I didn't think it was possible to make it worse than the old site, but I've been proven wrong. I did manage to eventually find their version of BT-5+. Appears to be the same as BMS, but you don't have to buy 34". http://www.erockets.biz/semroc-body-tube-bt-5-8-0-long/
