Question Big Bertha paint schemes

I can't seem to find all the variations of the Estes Big Bertha paint schemes. I'm sure that *somebody* here did them, but they're not coming up fast enough in the "Search" function.

If you know where they're posted here on YORF, please add the link to this thread. Thanks so much!

Cheers,

Hi, Jay,

The compilation I did is attached. Not sure if that's what you had in mind, but hope it helps.

Doug

Excelcior has the decals for the 1965 version.

Vern, Gleda and Betty signed mine at NARAM 50.

Doug,

That's not how I remember it, but at *our* age (50-ish)...

Thanks so much! That helps *substantially.*

I've been partial to the 1969 version that I've recreated 1:1 and 1.6X (BT-80), but after doing an early 60's version of the Alpha and looking at the similar simple lines of Indiana's 1966, I've come to admire its lines just as much. I like the 1971-84 version that's similar to the Ranger also, but the Ranger's red nose really sets it off more than the Bertha's yellow nose cone. I'm not too crazy about the 1985 to present versions.

There's a little logo down there in between a couple of fins on your model that I don't recall ever seeing on any Estes kits from the mid-'60's... Wow, a detail that has eluded discovery by most of us for over 40 years!!!

Thumbs up Jay's "Berta Grande"

I kept thinking that there was a *red* variation on the Big Bertha paint scheme, but the 1969-70 version is the only one that Doug came up with while he was scouring the Estes catalogs. Is it just me (careful, I have Multiple Personality Disorder, so there are plenty of us in here ), or did *somebody* do a red-themed BB?

At any rate, here's the paint scheme that I came up with. Apparently it's a nod to the Centuri "Stellar" Hercules on the front cover of the 1972 Centuri catalog.

Enjoy!
