Brain,
Sorry about that; must be the way the links work at Fliskits. The 'Dead Ringer' Jim makes is a micromaxx model. Click on the micromaxx link on the main site, then scroll down to have a look. Really is quite a nice model; mine is built, but I have yet to paint it. It will be an involved process! Your DR rendition is gorgeous. I'd like to see all the specs, as it looks like a fine model to scratch out. If you build one, do a thread on the subject. Please! Oh, and it doesn't look easy to paint either! Allen Edit: Whoops! Tom, you beat me to it! Last edited by jetlag : 08-24-2010 at 12:38 PM. |

WOW!
Wish our SGM looked that good.... Very nice work, sleek, slick and sexy. If we have a designer position come open I'll contact you.

And I'll be interested if that should ever come about!
I did find that Dead Ringer on the FlisKits page. That's an interesting design... I wasn't aware of its existence before I thought up the name myself. I may have to come up with a new name... Star Plug? Cloud Intruder? The Hoover? BreakWinder (I always like smelling my rockets after I recover them... )? I dunno... I'll have to think about it... And I want one of those SGM's myself. -Brain Aim for the sucker holes. |

The Fliskits website uses frames. So it takes a little trickery to get the right URL http://fliskits.com/products/rocket...dead_ringer.htm

Why change the name? Do a search for the name Stiletto. Centuri made one. Estes made one. US Rockets made one. I don't think there will be any confusion between these two very different models.

I ran across this upscale report on EMRR, and thought that it looked a heck of a lot like the Dead Ringer (in question). At this link:
